oh my God, Jerri! We really do think alike. I also got the Rogue pattern but was planning on using the trinity knot cable pattern for a scarf and in some toe-up socks. I did a swatch of just the cable pattern and the loop that points up is a bit out of proportion to the two side loops so I may re-invent the pattern a bit to suit my own taste. That's so neat and awesome that we both found that pattern. I had to hunt like the dickens to find ANYTHING that had a cabled trinity stitch on it. Wicked.
I'll try to get a picture of my trinity knot swatch. Post a picture of yours when you get the top loop done. I'm actually not knitting the sweater.... I got the pattern to use it for a pair of socks (knit from the toe up. Its my latest challenge that I've decided I will conquer.)
So, how do you like your blue sky needels? The appealing feature of those is that it comes with a case. I had a set of size 1 colonial rosewoods that got broke (this is the part where you gasp) and now am on a mission to find protective cases for my dpns. I did buy some cheap mini reading glasses the other day for the case, and the shorter dpns fit in them ok, but I want something for my longer needles as well. I know that the blue sky come with their own tin case and am now gravitating toward getting some of those. I just happen to love the rosewood colonial or the lantern moon ebony and was trying to find a way I could still buy those and get something sturdy to keep them in. I actually tried to make a polymer clay case and that turned out badly. Vickie Howell from Knitty Gritty suggested toothbrush holders, but I have to have something cut looking. I guess I could paint the case and make it my own unique kind of thing. Perhaps paint peace symbols or cats on them, what do you think?
