falling behind, but that happens to me sometimes. work has been busy. summer is over here in maine, the leaves are starting to turn. it looks like it will be a pretty autumn.
i have been working on the crocheted baby blanket and have some strips of white, pink and blue. i think it will turn out nice. i have several types of yarn for several projects, but haven't gotten around to starting them. i am going to a conference on wednesday with friends from work and want to work on a simple knitting project so that i can listen and knit. no counting involved! we will see how that goes...
john and i did not make it to bike week this year. we did get away though for a few days at a cottage on the river. our friends and their children and katie and the grandchildren came one afternoon for a feast of hot dogs and hamburgers. joseph and wapa got to kayak, joseph even paddled a bit.

well, i got a shock when i went to turn my engagement ring around the other day. i was in the car, coming home from my favorite store, wal-mart, all that was there was the prongs. it made me just sick. i dreaded telling john about it, but there was nothing we could do. it was there in the morning, but somewhere during my outing, had fallen out. the ring was my original diamond, john's first credit card purchase, right before he went to boot camp. bailey, banks and biddle, right at our local mall. memories.... then just a week later, now in 2006, he surprised me with a replacement. it looks almost identical!!!
otherwise, things are status quo. here are a couple grandkids pictures. of course, they are the cutest kids on the planet earth, not pluto, since the poor thing is a non-planet now. i think they should have left pluto alone, after all, it had planet status all those years...
as for the knitting and crocheting, i am still working on the blanket. there are now 2 white strips and part of a pink strip. progress. slow but steady. no actual knitting going on, but several projects in the wings....
